Over the past ten years, Jonathan has developed a trio of One Man Shows, based on Victorian popular culture.  He performs them under his stage name, Jonathan Wyatt.

The first one, “a frozen finger tracing out my spine...”,  is an evening of Victorian ghost stories. Drawing on masters of the genre, such as Dickens and MR James and lesser known writers such as Perceval Landon, it includes tales of a nun, immured in a convent wall; incomprehensible warnings from a ghostly signalman; and the fatal fascination of a copper sarcophagus.

The second show is a solo performance of A Christmas Carol. Jonathan brings to life some of Dickens’ most memorable characters: Scrooge, Marley, Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, and the entire Cratchit family.

Most recent is the detective story, Elementary, Father Brown. This is an entirely new mystery, in which two of Britain’s greatest amateur sleuths try to untangle the circumstances surrounding the Sudden Death of Cardinal Tosca.  Jealousy, greed, bigotry and unrequited passion - there’s no shortage of motives, and no shortage of suspects.  But which of the detectives will be first to uncover the truth? And can the audience get there before them?

All the shows very simply staged, to ensure that they are adaptable to almost any venue. They have been successfully presented in theatres, village halls, schools, libraries and historic buildings.
